Kuebler / Jenkins compete at the 2017 Elite Team Cup
3/8/2017 - Kuebler and Jenkins competed for the Region 2 Elite Team on March 4th, 2017 at the Regional Elite Team Championships. This competition was held in conjunction with the American cup. Each Regional Team competed with an Elite gymnast from the National Team and various universities. Region 2 placed 6th out of 9 regions in the Elite Team Cup.
The Region 2 Elite Team is comprised of 6 athletes which were chosen from a field of 16 athletes ages 13-18 from Region 2. They both showcased their skills and impressed the Elite Team Selection Committee at the NW Team Challenge at the beginning of January. Jenkins contributed to the team score on the Pommel Horse and the Parallel Bars and Kuebler contributed on the Floor, Pommel Horse, Vault, and Parallel Bars.

2017 WA State Clinic
The 2017 WA State Clinic is going to be great this year as Sergei Pakanich from WOGA Frisco will be coming to be our guest clinician. He has had various National Champions, and National Team Members on the Future Stars and Junior National Teams.
There will be special Junior Development Team training sessions as well as open training sessions for any gymnasts that competed level 4, 5, or 6 in the 2016-2017 Competitions Season. Go to the clinics page to register your athlete in one of the open training sessions where he will get to work with Sergei and many of the amazing coaches from the Northwest.

Washington Has Two New Future Stars National Team Members!
On November 13th, 2015, 12 year old Dante Hays of Monroe, WA, and 10 year old Sebastian Kane of Mercer Island, WA, both competed at the USA Gymnastics Future Stars National Championships held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. In order to qualify, they had to achieve a high enough score in each of their divisions at the Regional Future Stars Championships held in Lacey, WA on October 9th of this year. Both gymnasts train at Eastside Gymnastics in Woodinville, WA.
Sebastian Kane placed 4th overall against 91 other 10 year old competitors from across the Nation. This placement qualifies him for the National Team and an invitation to the National Team Training Camp held this upcoming summer at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
Dante Hays placed 11th overall against 41 other 12 year old competitors from across the Nation. This placement also qualifies him for the National Team.

Washington gymnasts come back from nationals with more GOLD!
Washington Gymnasts came back from the 2015 Junior Olympic National Championships with 22 medals over all and four of them GOLD! Congratulations to the following gymnasts who received medals and their coaches for all the hard work and dedication they've put into this sport!

2014 WA State Junior Olympic Development Team

This is the first Washington State Junior Olympic Development Team. These are the very best level 5 and level 6 gymnasts in the state. They were selected by their placements at the 2014 Washington State Championships. They all participated in the State Development Camp held in conjunction with the State Clinic. Head clinician Mark Russo, head coach of the Washington Men's Gymnastics Team was able to work with all the boys and coaches. This event was held in an effort to help these gymnasts and their coaches through an educational hands on experience. National Team Coach Bob Young (Black Hills Coach) also contributed to the camp with spotting techniques and insights that can only come from a seasoned accomplished coach.

Black Hills and Metropolitan Gymnasts Bring Home Gold

The Junior Olympic Nationals were a huge success for Washington native gymnasts from Black Hills Gymnastics; Fletcher Braunton, Garret Braunton, Troy Jenkins Jr., Garret Hughes, and from Metropolitan Gymnastics; Adam Kerwin and Kacey Provo. Congratulations to all of these gymnasts who brought home medals.
Garret Braunton won the gold medal in the All Around in the 11 year old Level 8 Junior Elite division. Garret also placed: 2nd on Floor, 4th on Rings, 4th on Vault, 6th on Parallel Bars, and 2nd on High Bar!
Adam Kerwin won the gold medal on the Parallel Bars in the 11 year old Level 8 Junior Olympic division. Adam also placed: 6th in the All Around, and 5th on High Bar.
Fletcher Braunton, in the 17 year old Level 10 Junior Olympic division placed: 3rd in the All Around, 5th on Floor, and 3rd on Rings.
Troy Jenkins Jr., in the 12 year old Level 8 Junior Elite division placed: 5th in the All Around, 3rd on Pommel Horse, and 2nd on Rings.
Garret Hughes, in the 13 year old Level 9 Junior Olympic division placed: 9th in the All Around, and 5th on High Bar.

2014 Washington State Championships
Garrett Braunton - 2013 Future Stars National Champion!
Garrett Braunton from Black Hills Gymnastics won the 11 year old division at the Future Stars National Championship held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs on November 8th 2013. Garrett beat 58 other 11 year old gymnasts from all over the country. Garrett scored a combined all around of 81.25 (click here for full results). Coach Bob Young commented, "He couldn't have done anything better. He hit all his routines and stuck all his dismounts."
Garrett's teammate, Troy Jenkins Jr., also had an amazing performance and took 2nd place in the 12 year old division! Everett O'Donnell, also from black hills placed 33rd int he 10 year old division out of 74 athletes. Dante Hays from Eastside Gymnastics placed 65th, also in the 10 year old division.

The 2013 Junior Olympic National Championships were held May 2nd - 5th in Portland, OR. Black Hills, coached by Bob Young, supplied the state with 15 medals and 6 National titles won by 4 of his gymnasts.
- Logan Melander for the 18 year old level 10 Junior Olympic division, placed 1st on Floor, 2nd on Pommel Horse, 3rd on Rings, 2nd on Vault, 5th on Parallel Bars, 1st on High bar and 1st in the All-Around! .
- Fletcher Braunton for the 16 year old level 10 Junior Olympic division, placed 1st on Pommel Horse, 5th on Rings, 3rd on Vault, and 1st in the All Around!
- Troy Jenkins Jr. for the 11-12 year old Junior Elite division, placed 1st on Rings, and 9th All-Around!
- Garrett Braunton for the 11-12 year old Junior Elite division, placed 5th on Floor, and 4th on Rings!
